Who is Red Energy?
Red Energy is a wholly Australian owned company, part of the Snowy Hydro group. They operate in Victoria and South Australia as a provider of 100% Renewable Energy, and are partners in other renewable energy programs such as Hepburn Wind. As part of this arrangement, the Herd will supplement our community fund to develop exciting new renewable energy and carbon reduction projects in our communities.

Of all the providers we have dealt with, they have committed to working with us to give you and the environment the best deal.
Our commitment as a social enterprise is to support the community directly. For every customer who migrate with HerdPower, we will be donating $25 to our community fund, directly supporting the development of renewable energy projects. And if you chose the 120% Seriously Green Energy product, this number will grow your contributions to new renewable energy even further !

Herd benefits
In December 2011, energy companies in Victoria raised their prices between 6% and 10% for household electricity. Red Energy however did defer their increase their electricity prices. That means Herd members can switch their electricity to Red Energy at these discounted prices, making this a very attractive deal in the market for the 2012 new year.
Red Energy’s hydro backed deal offers you:

- - Guarantees on 100% Renewable Energy** for a 2 year contract
As the migration gets bigger, we’re negotiating extra bonuses for Herd members:
- - Cash back bonuses when we reach our member population targets
- - An investment fund for establishing renewable energy assets, like solar arrays in the community
We have done the analysis to compare these prices against other comparable products in the market, and we’ve found this deal to offer substantial benefits in terms of price, which only get better as the Herd grows. Do you have Solar?

Electricity and Gas
As part of your transfer, you have the option to switch your gas supply to Red Energy.
When you switch both your electricity and gas over to Red Energy you get the most out of your deal:
- - for every gas account we will commit $15 per customer, and
- - for every electricity account we commit $25 per customer into our community fund.
Whilst we can’t claim that this gas comes from 100% renewable sources, through our community fund support for renewable energy projects, you are proactively making a difference by switching your gas. To fully offset your environmental impact, you can contribute here to 120% Renewable Energy.

Direct Debit
To receive your pay-on-time discounts and Herd bonuses, you need to pay your bills on time. If practical, we would advise that you pay your energy bills via direct debit, which will make sure you don’t get left out!
